This car is possibly one of the last Mark 5 Ford Cortina's to be made. The car is an August 1982 Ford Cortina 1.6L 4 door saloon in Venus Gold. It has a 1593cc petrol engine with a 4 speed manual gearbox. The current mileage is 28,187 yes that is correct 28,187 genuine miles from new, with FULL FORD SERVICE HISTORY to document this. It currently has 10 months MOT but NO TAX as it has been sorn. The car has had only one owner from new and is completely original, even down to the radio.
The car has been dry stored for the last 10 years, yes 10 ! But has been regularly started and run. The car has just had an interim service including a new cam belt, fan belt, oil and filters and new spark plugs. Anyone is more than welcome to a full AA/RAC inspection at there own cost. Viewing and test drive are also welcome for genuine enthusiasts of this car.
The registration number is POB 24Y I have had this valued at a minimum of £500.
The colour of the interior is called Peat (Brown) and is spotless. (as new see photos)
The body work is 98% mint with only a few marks for a vehicle of this age, of which I list below :
1. There is a scrape on the bottom front driver side wing. This has also caused 2 minor dents above the wheel arch. (shown in photo) I have been told by a local body shop it would cost around £100 -£120 to repair.
2. The front and rear valance both have very minor scabs on. (being very fussy)
3. The passenger front door trim has the chrome strip missing.
4. The rear bumper on driver side has a small dent but no damage has occurred to the body work. (a very simple straightening repair)
5. There is a small patch of surface rust inside the boot.
I have chosen to sell the vehicle with the above mentioned in order to be as honest as possible.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well for a vehicle of this age. It also comes with the original bill of sale and all the usual Ford booklets to accompany the car. This is the perfect opportunity to own a very collectable piece of Ford history in near perfect condition both inside and out. !!
